Meet "Octopus Garden"​

The giant Pacific octopus is one of the Oregon Coast's most fascinating residents, a master of camouflage with eight curious arms that explore every corner of its underwater world. In Octopus Garden, a winding octopus arm moves among colorful sea anemones, offering a glimpse into the remarkable marine life hidden beneath the waves.
 

The original was woven from retired commercial fishing gear collected at the Port of Newport and later exhibited in Woven from the Port at the Newport Visual Arts Center. Now part of a private collection, its playful combination of movement, texture, and color makes it a natural addition to this collection.
